Saraswati Devi doesn’t just represent the idea of education, she brings sophistication and maturity in our life. Her devotee looks wise beyond his/her years and knows how to handle success or even failure. Saraswati Devi never resides in a heart lacking humility and surrender, for the stream of knowledge only flows where there is the sincere desire to learn and know.
When Knowledge Fails an Individual
We must understand that intelligence or brilliance can never be attributed to a person. That is why sometimes an intelligent person may behave in perplexing ways. The source of Intelligence is Saraswati Devi. Her Grace makes one intelligent for a stipulated period.
But when one claims ownership of her blessings and pollutes it with one’s hard ego, the very same intelligence fails one unexpectedly. Hence it is mandatory to approach the goddess with the right mindset.

विद्यां ददाति विनयं विनयाद् याति पात्रताम् ।
पात्रत्वात् धनमाप्नोति धनात् धर्मं ततः सुखम् ॥
Translation:
“Knowledge gives humility, from humility one attains eligibility/worthiness. From worthiness one acquires wealth, from wealth righteous conduct, and from righteous conduct comes happiness.”
This is the irony of the universe. Knowledge only enters the mind that has accepted its shortcomings. Hence, the Goddess is synonymous to Truth, Purity and Humility. Saraswati Devi is also very merciful. Touched by Kalidas’s plight, she blessed him with poetic and scholastic abilities.
Connection between Knowledge and Speech
Saraswati Devi rules over two energies:
- Jnana Shakti (Knowledge)
- Vak-Shakti (Speech)
Jnana Shakti refers to our understanding of the world; how we process the sense objects using our inner instrument (Jnanendriyas). We make sense of life through Jnana Shakti. The rosary and the vedas adorning the hands of Devi symbolize the same. Jnana Shakti helps us understand and comprehend situations.
Vakshakti on the other hand helps us express that knowledge through words, poetry or creative science as represented by the Veena that Devi holds. Vak Shakti gives us the ability to plainly convey your thoughts to another soul. It can be through any medium, be it art- splashing of colours, dance, mudras and expressions, writing, journaling, raga and music.
To put it plainly Jnana Shakti is the ability to conceive and conceptualize while Vakshakti is to convey, convince and influence. These powers are attained through Nishkama Sadhana of Saraswati Devi.

When understanding and expression aren’t in sync, one feels physically and mentally hampered.
Imagine the plight of:
- an artist who conceives a rich landscape, but his hands keep on jittering and do not cooperate.
- a dancer wanting to freely emote her emotions through dance, but finds it difficult to move her limbs gracefully
- a singer who conceptualizes the right tune but isn’t able to sing melodiously.
- a person wanting to speak and convey a point, but is mute by birth
Clearly the Jnana shakti and Vak-shakti are not synchronous.

Devi Saraswati transmits our knowledge, feelings and desires, making us feel truly known, understood and acknowledged. She gives us our unique identity and voice, governing the throat (Vishuddha Chakra), responsible for Communication.
One experiences the Rasa or essence of life, both in terms of self-realization and material standing. Without the Grace of Saraswati Devi life appears static, like a frozen river, devoid of movement and excitement. And to avail the grace of Mother Saraswati, we have the energized Saraswati Yantra

Who needs the Saraswati Yantra
The Saraswati Yantra is the living symbol of Saraswati Devi, consisting of esoteric symbolism and principles.
Now, I shall list who shall be most benefited by the Saraswati Yantra and find a meaningful direction in their life by worshipping this Yantra.
1) Students who want to excel in Education/Pass Competitive Exam
We find the deity / Yantra of Saraswati Devi in most reputed schools and colleges for a reason. The Saraswati Yantra gives us the right mindset for academic and inner growth; it opens the groves of knowledge.
It brings new opportunities for higher education by creating a conducive environment. The geometry of the Yantra leaves a subtle imprint on the brain helping one grasp complex topics with ease. However, the worshiper should beware of arrogance and pride as it can dim the light of the Devi’s Grace.

Moreover, considering today’s modern education system, memory or retention is an uncompromisable asset especially for streams such as IAS (learning historical dates, events) and, even IIT, (memorizing complex and nuanced formulae).
Here the Saraswati Yantra proves very effective when consciously worshipped with intention, not just as a mere ritual. It improves Medha Shakti or the brain’s retention and memory power. The Medha Suktam, found in the Mahanarayana Upanishad glorifies this quality. One gains access to the subtle realm of knowledge which makes learning easy for devotees of truth.
2) Writers or bloggers who pen down their thoughts or ideas

Many times writers face a block and are unable to write further. The Saraswati Yantra helps clear the writing block or stagnation period where ideas don’t flow or simply don’t translate into words. It supports writers who want to effectively convey their point, but struggle finding the right words or even coming up with new creative ideas.
3) Children/Adults struggling with Speech and Learning Disability

The Saraswati Yantra greatly benefits people suffering from autism, stammering, having poor vocabulary, nervous discoordination, misunderstandings or learning difficulties. Even parents can worship the yantra if their children are experiencing such issues.
In earlier times, the guru was so spirtually capable that they could directly transmit knowledge in students who struggled with learning disabilities. The example of Totakacharya is a shining example in this regard.
The Powerful Story of Sriman Totakacharya

Totakacharya formerly known as Giri simply served his Gurudeva Sri Adi Shankaracharya with all his heart and soul. He waited upon the master, pressed his guru’s lotus feet with devotion, fanned him during his meals and attended his menial services.
Though not brilliant at learning the Vedas, his soul had already lived its meaning. His fellow classmates compared him to an inert wall which could not comprehend the subtle truths of the scriptures.
One fine day, while Sri Adi Shankaracharya was surrounded by disciples, waiting for him, something spectacular happened. Giri uttered words in immaculate Sanskrit and composed the Toṭakāṣṭakam, in praise of his Guru Ādi Śaṅkara, to the amazement of all those sitting there.

His guru had transmitted the stream of knowledge, as a reward of his seva.
But, considering today’s modern times, the best way to avail such transformative grace is through the Guru-energized Saraswati Yantra. The Saraswati Yantra is energized with Guruji’s prayers and intent to positively impact the lives of students dealing with learning challenges.
Students having Dyslexia and memory related issues see massive improvement in their academics and cognitive abilities. The Yantra worship enables students to choose their career more effectively. It also helps people who have stage fear and are unable to convince others.
4) Artists involved in any creative field

Artists, both in modern and traditional context such as Painting, Dancing, Singing, Fashion Designing, etc can procure hand-made consciousness touched Saraswati Yantras. The Saraswati Yantra gives original creative ideas that can take your artistic career to a different level.
