The name Bhairava is deeply connected with “fear”. The root word “Bhiru” denotes fear or the capacity to terrify and “rava” means roar. Overall, Bhairava signifies the destruction of the practitioner’s inherent fears by invoking the terrifying aspect of the Supreme Being.
Bhairava Sadhana, in recent years has attracted the attention of people particularly after the advent of podcasting on popular social media platforms. Here we shall streamline the safe ways to approach Lord Bhairava.
Why Bhairava Sadhana Attracts People During Difficult Times?

During our interactions with several people, we have observed that those who are attracted to Sri Bhairava Sadhana usually want to get out of a problem quickly.
This happens due to a deep psychological coping mechanism wherein the mind looks for external support systems when it is unable to handle situations effectively.
It draws people to the domain of occult sadhanas, which is popular as fast yielding. So, many people begin worship to appease Sri Bhairava with the hope that the problem will be fixed.
Familial instability, resentment because of consistent failures or the desire to change fate overnight become common doorways for Tantra.
This notion subconsciously makes one believe that Sattvik practices are not very effective and only unconventional sadhana can be effective.
Approaching Bhairava in the Sattvika Manner
Considering that Bhairava is a fierce deity, aspirants living or interacting with relatives/family members need to take precautions and the guidance of a Siddha Tantrika Guru.
We believe that even Tantrika Vidya have their Satvika Equivalents through a genuine Yantra based Pooja Vidhi given to us through our Parampara. Our origins can be traced back to our Ishta Devata Sri Hanumanji Maharaj who is the Lord of Yantra and Tantra Vidya. He serves Sri Rama in the Vaishnava mode, and Devi through the mode of Sattvik Tantra.

We follow the Satvika methodology of worship to appease Sri Bhairava through prayers, meditations, Japa and Yantra sadhana.
Also, we strictly reject the use of alcohol, meat, crematory ground practices, and fierce rituals. These practices only amplify illusion and cause great disturbance amongst the common masses by igniting undue curiosity especially in today’s age.
The 2 Bhairava Sadhana Paths
We shall discuss two prominent paths of Tantra Sadhana. Each of these necessitate guidance and commitment.
1. Vamachara: The Risky Path in Bhairava Sadhana

The Vamachara (or left handed path) emphasises on rituals. Factors like adherence to rules, purity of thought, word, deed and intention decide the success rate.
The Sadhaka’s lower Chakras must be in perfect alignment because this path involves the Panchamakaras. It requires strict vigilance and obedience to the Guru to prevent downfall.
There is an old saying “High Risk, High Gain”. The Vamachara Bhairava Sadhana is a high gain vidhi where following the ritual correctly can yield immediate results. Hence the risk too is proportional. Deviations or mistakes are not tolerated at all.
But, it is like an arrow that hits the mark. The rituals become very stringent, because you are demanding a favour from the deity. In Vama marga, the mood of the sadhaka is rather authoritative than seeking.

There is a key to this path that often goes unnoticed. Just as reputed colleges grant admission only to top rankers, the Vama Marga is not open to all. It is a highly selective path, which is why it has become rare and almost extinct in modern times. The disciple is chosen by a well-trained Tantrika Guru who is authorized by His parampara to select and train a sadhaka in Bhairava Sadhana.
So, the compatibility of the Guru and disciple must be stronger than blood ties. The sadhana deals with other worldly experiences which can intimidate the practitioner. At that time, the Guru hand holds the disciple to the other shore, towards the domain of Sri Bhairava.
The Guru plays the role of a surgeon who saves the life of a patient who is oblivious of what he is undergoing.
Vama Marga Bhairava sadhana requires immense caution. It works at very deep levels which is difficult to sail through while living within the fabric of family.
We have to remember that glitches in Tantrika sadhana can alter one’s course of life for the better or worse, depending on one’s guidance and inner discipline.
2. Dakshinachara: The Safe Mode to Sri Bhairava Sadhana

This is the right handed path of Tantra called Dakshinachara. Restraint, Humility, prayers and obedience to instructions are very essential to see results in this path.
This path adopts a symbolic use of the Panchamakaras rather than literal, making it sattvik and safe for Householders. For deeper connection, Sri Bhairava is invoked through the medium of His Yantra.
One must practice the Yantra Pooja and Hymns with a clean inner mood. This path yields fruits based on one’s qualification to receive the result. Although the results are slower to come, they can be accelerated through the sadhaka’s sincerity and commitment to the path.
Grace dawns primarily by removing Vighna or obstacles in one’s life. This path is ideal for people who want to see changes while remaining available for duties at home and work.
Connecting With Sri Bhairava in the Safest and Most Effective Way

As discussed earlier, Bhairav ji can be effectively invoked through the Sri Bhairava Yantra. For safe worship, it is advisable to acquire a Guru energized Sri Bhairava Yantra with its Specific Sadhana Process. This is because, here the individual does not invite Sri Bhairava’s fierce energies directly.
It is made to flow through the conduit of the Guru who energizes the Yantra. So, Sri Bhairava’s energy flows in a controlled manner because of Sri Guru’s safe intent.
The advantage is that anyone can use a perfectly Guru-Energized Bhairava Yantra. The geometry of the Sri Bhairava Yantra is Swayam Bhairava who appears in a benign form through the Grace of Guru.
Significance of the Guru in Sri Bhairava Yantra Sadhana
An aspirant must first state his/her concerns to the Guru or his disciples. Based on the birth details, a suitable time for the Yantra Rachana (creation) process and Praan Pratishtha (Energization) is considered.
The Guru prays for the Sadhaka. Having received the Grace of the Ishta, he invites the Sattvika energy of Sri Bhairava to transform one’s life for the better.
We must understand something really deep. Being able to even vaguely connect with a Guru is Sri Bhairava’s grace alone. The Guru is a living and visible manifestation of Sri Bhairava. He is instrumental in bringing the Lord’s grace into the life of a person

Only when Sri Bhairava wills, can we connect and receive the Guru who guides and lifts us out of our current crisis.
A Living Guru has a gross body. Therefore, he cannot manifest at multiple places and extend his energy infinitely to many people at once. But, his Shakti is extended through the prayers and yantra sadhana he performs for the welfare of the individual undergoing life challenges.

Some Profound Benefits of Sri Bhairava Yantra
Here are some notable benefits of worshipping the Guru Energized Sri Bhairava Yantra as observed by the seekers who received them.
Relief from Phobias
Lord Bhairava cuts through phobias when worshipped regularly. Most times, we may be aware of our deep rooted fears or phobias. We may attribute our fear of losing money (peniaphobia) to the memories of having faced scarcity or hardships as children. So, when we retrace our fear, we can generally find the root cause of it.
However, there are certain cases where we find no reason just like children crying in darkness, even when they have not been hurt. Our childhood or early years may not reveal any trigger point for us to develop such phobias. This is because fear does not spring from the current lifetime alone. It has its roots in our past lifetimes.

When Guruji energizes the Shri Bhairava Yantra for people’s anxiety and fear, prayers are offered to Shri Bhairava to calm the mind so it may function smoothly. The negativity is released non-invasively through the medium of lucid dreams. This has improved the social and personal life of many seekers by addressing their fears at the fundamental level.
The Bhojpatra Pran Pratishithit Sri Bhairava Yantra helps one gradually overcome these phobias.
How Sri Bhairava Yantra Sadhana Resolves Past Conflicts
The Bhairav yantra brings more peace in life by reopening unresolved matters that took a toll on one’s mental health. The person becomes aware of repeating life patterns and is empowered by Sri Guru and Sri Bhairava to take the necessary actions to put an end to repeating life-circumstances.
We had a gentleman who connected with us to acquire the Sri Bhairava Yantra. His intention was to get relief from stress and sadness. We did get an impression that the grief stemmed from family issues. He briefly ran through his concerns without stressing much on his family dynamics.
At our insistence, Guruji prepared and energized the Sri Bhairava Yantra for him.
We heard from him roughly after 2.5 months. He was deeply grateful to Guruji for His kindness. He opened up this time saying that a property dispute had alienated him from his siblings. The issue had remained unresolved for years. His parents lived with his siblings and had drifted away from his life. Primarily, his life revolved around his spouse and two children.
But, he did time and again feel a stinging pain at the thought of his parents. He felt he was not a good son. Although he sent them financial and medical help, he was not satisfied with how things had shaped up.

After he began the Yantra worship, he felt his guilt had reduced. Then out of nowhere, his siblings contacted him to discuss the property matter. After some thought and discussion, the dispute was amicably sorted out and the negotiations concluded in good taste. The sadhaka attributed the success to the Sri Bhairava Yantra puja given to him by Guruji.
When asked for further guidance, we advised him to chant “Sri Bhairavaya Namo Namah” on a Rudraksha Mala in front of the yantra at least once a day.
The Nama Japa helps develop an undivided devotion towards Sri Bhairava.
